At last week's Golden Globes, The Social Network took home 4 honors and the Weinstein-backed King's Speech, produced by Iain Canning, Emile Sherman and Gareth Unwin, stammered. However film's star, Colin Firth, won the Best Actor award.

The Producer's Guild Best Produced Film has coincided with the Academy Best Picture three times out of the past three years.

Academy Award nominations will be announced on Tuesday.

"Waiting for Superman," won best produced documentary, a film that details the failures of the U.S. educational system.

Best TV drama was won by AMC's "Mad Men." Mad Men's Vincent Kartheiser is so eco-friendly, he still prefers taking the bus to work - in Los Angeles! And Mad Men maintains a green film set...

BBC Stages BMW Mini E to Scotland, Tesla Takes The Challenge

The BBC is well aware that David is on Brian’s tail. Actually, David appears to be well ahead of Brian, who is somewhere in southern Scotland.

    Photos Courtesy David Peilow

The BBC is currently airing a four-day hit piece about EVs, using a BMW MiniE to drive from London to Edinburgh. The Beeb’s venerable technology correspondent Brian Milligan is on TV, online and tweeting about how onerous, time-consuming and inconvenient EVs are – the worries, the range anxiety, the moldy charging stations that haven’t seen any customers in three years. It focuses exclusively on BMW, and the imagery is pretty pathetic and the series has become quite controversial.

Electric vehicle company Tesla aimed to prove them wrong, with help from UK EV advocate and engineer David Peilow. In a 21st century rendition of “David vs. Goliath” (or more appropriately, David vs. the BBC), the engineer hopped in a Roadster at Tesla’s London store on Wednesday morning and got to Edinburgh that night. Unlike the TV series, David accomplished the trip with no worries, no range anxiety, no drama. This may be the first time that an electric vehicle has driven from London to Edinburgh in a single day.

Upon his arrival last night, the first Tesla owner in Scotland was there to meet David.

Bumble and Bumble's Doc on Vidal Sassoon

    Directed by: Craig Teper

Produced by: Michael Gordon and Jackie Gilbert Bauer

A feature documentary spanning 80 years of revolution in culture, as told through the life of one extraordinary man, VIDAL SASSOON THE MOVIE is the revealing and inspirational story of how one man changed the world with a pair of scissors.

VIDAL SASSOON THE MOVIE is a true rags-to-riches tale, tracing Sassoon’s path from a London orphanage to international success and celebrity.

Producer Michael Gordon, founder of natural hair care company Bumble and Bumble, first set out to document Vidal's life in a richly visual book about icons in the world of hairdressing.

What started as an 80th birthday tribute to Sassoon became a movie when Gordon brought on director Craig Teper. While chronicling the fashion, style and social revolutions of the 1960s, VIDAL SASSOON THE MOVIE shows how Sassoon revolutionized the world of hair with his pioneering, geometric, Bauhaus-inspired styles and “wash and wear” philosophy, literally changing the way women look and cut their hair today.

Phase 4 Films will release VIDAL SASSOON THE MOVIE in New York on February 11th, 2011 and in Los Angeles on February 18th, 2011.

    Nigel Barker's Beauty Equation

    by Nigel Barker

Over the years, I have had the opportunity to see beauty in almost every form. Whether it is on set with a model, at home with my wife and kids or even in the heart of Africa filming Generation Free, I am constantly surprised and confronted with the many elements that make up beauty. I am now ready to share these elements with you in my first book, Nigel Barker’s Beauty Equation.

Casting aside conventional rules, I draw on 20 years of experience in the beauty business and 13 seasons of judging America’s Next Top Model to unleash the 10 essential elements that make up true beauty: Allure, Confidence, Compassion, Spontaneity, Radiance, Health, Honesty, Charm, Energy + Humor.

As you discover your Beauty Equation, I will guide you through a series of instructive teaches and self-portraiture challenges that will reveal a better and more beautiful you. On your journey, you will make a portfolio of photos, words, and inspiration detailing how truly beautiful you are and can be.

Just like the dynamic portfolio of a top model, filled with a full range of their best shots, your portfolio will highlight your best attributes and show the true you. You can choose to keep this portfolio private, or you can share it with the Beauty Equation community online at www.beautyequation.com. Here, you can post your work, track your Beauty Equation progress, and share your experiences with other readers from around the globe!

HAL SPARKS: "I will introduce at least 20 new people to vegan and vegetarian cuisine in hopes of bringing them closer to a cruelty-free diet. I will continue to encourage everyone to practice Meatless Mondays and... I will also pet 32% more cats this year."

TAMAR GELLER: "May those of us who share our lives with dogs train ourselves to see and recognize all the efforts our dogs are making to understand us, connect with us, and make up happy. May we accept them even half as much as they accept us."
—With love, Tamar, Clyde, G-Ma, and Cricket

PATRICK MCDONNELL: "My resolution is to do all I can to help make more people aware that animals are sentient beings. Taking action, even by making small, seemingly insignificant changes, can make a big difference in the lives of animals. It's really about awareness and kindness."

    Stevia is A Super-Beauty Food

30 times sweeter than sugar, Stevia, the herb-derived non-caloric sweetener that has replaced those others recently, is actually a beauty remedy as well!

It comes from a small green plant (stevia rebaudiana) found in Paraguay, the native Guarani Indians have apparently always used it to sweeten their drinks.

It's also good for fruit salads and to sweeten whipped cream!

For your beauty regimen, its ultra-sweet power gives it its super hydrating properties, particularly for your entire body. Its "steviosides" not only moisturize but also soften the skin. Melvita makes an exquisite blend of thym infused honey and stevia called Apicosma that reveals ultra-soft, creamy rich and touchable arms, legs and all-over. You can also try blending some of your own beauty Super Potions using packets of Stevia that you find at your health food store.
