Hurley recently collaborated with Incubus frontman Brandon Boyd on a capsule collection launching next month. Boyd is a long time supporter of ocean related causes, which is reflected in the artwork he created for the collaboration. Boyd’s trash pale whale features an image of a whale that has swallowed plastic water bottles that have carelessly been dumped into our world’s oceans. The collection is environmentally friendly using 100% recycled cotton, made from the cuttings and pulp of re-claimed cotton. The hangtags will be printed using soy ink and recycled twine will replace the plastic attachments. Customers who purchase any Hurley items are eligible to receive a limited edition BPA free recycled water bottle featuring Brandon Boyd’s artwork for $5 available exclusively at participating Buckle retailers. Hurley is donating over 560 of these water bottles to Buckle employees to make the office single use plastic water bottle free. The Hurley X Brandon Boyd collection will retail between $28.00 and $32.00 with 100% of the proceeds from the sales of the collection benefiting H.O.P.E. (Helping Other People Everywhere), a 501(c)3 non-profit focused on involving artists and their contributions in campaigns, programs and events to support existing social projects that promote education and peace around the world. |
