James Franco, Best Actor Nom, Mobbed At Sundance Film Festival

Franco was just nominated for Best Actor for his role in 127 Hours. He will also co-host the 83rd Academy Awards.

Sundance Attendees and Guests take a break from the Festival at the PlayStation Green Room and try out some of the newest PlayStation®3 titles, including inFAMOUS 2, Killzone®3 and MLB 11® The Show™.


Silver has been singled out as the exclusive restaurant for some of the most anticipated films of the Festival and will host Hollywood A-listers attending Sundance.

 PARK CITY, UT -- Sundance Institute and Mahindra today announced the winners of the inaugural Sundance Institute|Mahindra Global Filmmaking Award, in recognition and support of emerging independent filmmakers from around the world. The winning directors and projects are: Bogdan Mustata, WOLF from Romania; Ernesto ContrerasI DREAM IN ANOTHER LANGUAGE from Mexico; Seng Tat Liew, IN WHAT CITY DOES IT LIVE? from Malaysia; and Talya LavieZERO MOTIVATION from Israel. The awards were presented at a private ceremony at the Sundance Film Festival, currently underway in Park City, Utah.

The Sundance Institute | Mahindra Global Filmmaking Award is part of a multifaceted agreement that exemplifies the commitment and support of world cinema by the Mahindra Group, one of the largest companies in India known throughout the world for its commitment to excellence and to social responsibility, and the nonprofit Sundance Institute, one of the world’s leading cultural organizations.

The partnership, which also includes the establishment of a Mumbai Mantra|Sundance Institute Screenwriters Lab in India, will extend over a three-year period. The Lab will provide an opportunity for 6 to 8 screenwriters from India to develop their works under the guidance of accomplished international screenwriters in an environment that encourages storytelling at the highest level. The Mumbai Mantra | Sundance Institute Screenwriting Lab March 2012 is inviting applications from Indian screenwriters as part of its Open Submission Process.
